Accounting Department of Henan University of Finance and Economics, since was built up in 1990, has aimed at improving education quality and explored new patterns of education and talent training positively in the new situation under its principle: ‘making Accounting Department a first-rate one, and teaching students the first-rate accountants’. We have attained for far development in teaching, researching subjects construction and teachers qualification during past ten years.

　 At present, our department has a strong teaching staff, with 16 professors and associate professors, within whom there are some experts enjoying the particular premium from State Council and province-governing experts, 4 Doctors, 15 Masters, 10 Master tutors, and all of them are rich in teaching experience and abundant in academic bases. In recent years, teachers of our department have head or participated in more than 20 scientific research projects and attained 16 awards of provincial and ministerial level, published over 40 works and textbooks and over 200 academic papers in deferent kinds of professional periodicals.
　
　 Now, Accounting Department is the first Accounting MA degree granting unit in Henan Province , with 39 graduate students; We have now 1532 students majoring in two senior subjects: Accounting and Finance management and one junior subject: Computerizing Accounting, taking the first place in scale of our university. Of all the subjects, Accounting is honoured the key subject of university level, and another four subjects ,namely Basic Accounting, Financial Accounting, Financial Management and Auditing are credited excellent subjects of province level. Besides, the accounting laboratories are among the first group of qualified provincial laboratories of our university.

　 Our department follows the pattern of cultivating students by strengthening foundation, broadening adaptation, enforcing capability, heightening qualifications, compounding structures. According to different subjects and majors in different periods, we explore educational reform, promote the credit system of evaluation and qualification education, enhance teaching quality all-roundly, popularize mass media teaching and case teaching, emphasize practical teaching and pay more attention to creative ability, thinking ability and comprehensive quality in students in order to make our graduate students more popular in society. Ever since the founding of department for 11 years, we have provided graduates and 2175 Master degree graduates. The employment rate of our students is ranked high in our university and among the similar majors in Henan province. Moreover, a great many graduates enter other graduate course and continue their further education every year.
　
　 With a humanism notion, Accounting Department has a goal of building superior discipline, enforcing major and staff construction, promoting education by research, forming our own characteristics gradually in teaching, research, management and the organization of the Youth League and Student Union to train our students into qualified talents to adapt to market economy. We’ll regard high quality students training as our final target.
