 Strengthen Competence on matter-of-fact and Develop in keeping Pace with the Times -introduction to the developing adult higher education of Henan University of Finance and Economics The adult higher education develops side by side with the regular higher education of Henan University of Finance and Economics (hnufe). she opens up her school-running train of thought widely in order to adjust to the needs of our reform and opening and to that of the development of the socialist market economy ever since 1983. Now a multi-form and multi-level school-running system is taking shape in the adult higher education of hnufe. With regard to her school-running types, she has full-time,correspondence, self-taught examination, further education,cooperative education, etc. As for her levels, there are four forms which are specialized education (one is for senior high school graduates, the other for one¨s second record of specialized education) and undergraduate education (one is for senior high school graduates, the other for specialized education graduates).
At present, concerning the specialized education, there are 18 specialties which are business management, law, computerized accounting, computer and information management, manpower resources management, touristry management, insurance, public relations, advertising, economics, finance, financial affairs management, accounting, banking, marketing and planning, foreign trade, foreign trade English ,housing estate, engineering management. In addition, she has four undergraduate specialties for senior high school gradates which are computer science and technology, business management, banking and accounting.
As to undergraduates for specialized education graduates, there are 7 specialties which are foreign trade English, computer science and technology, business management, trade economics, manpower resources management, touristy management, housing estate and engineering management. Moreover, hnufe is the presiding school for six self-taught examination specialties,four specialized ones being accounting, business management, secretary ,manpower resources management, and two undergraduates ones being accounting and business management.Furthermore, computer performance and thesis oral defense as the practical examinations of the above self-taught examination specialties are undertaken in hnufe. Now there are more than 8,000 adult students studying in hnufe and 32,000 self-taught examination students on record.
The adult higher education of hnufe takes the idea of serving the society and requite our motherland through education .She has taken a lot of measures to improve the teaching quality and standard, such as regular school-running means, scientific management, systematic teaching management, standard students management and files management .The above measures lay a foundation for making the students qualified for our society .In the past 20 years, the adult higher education of hnufe has been aiming at training the interdisciplinary talents with profound rudiments, wide range of knowledge, high competence and quality conform to the social needs. Persisting in students-oriented education, she deepens the teaching reform and attaches importance to training the creative spirit and practical competence of the students. Basing herself on Henan Province, up to now, the adult higher education of hnufe has supplied the society with nearly 30,000 adult graduates and around 100,000 self-tught examination graduates for the primary-level units. In addition, thousands of on-the-job employees have undertaken further education here .
Widely welcome by their own units, graduates of the adult higher education of hnufe have made brilliant achievements at their work and outstanding contributions to the construction of the socialist modernizations She has turned into an important base of the talents-training on economics and management In the new century, adult higher education is confronted both by challenges and by opportunities. We have no choice but to seize the reform, strengthen the management, set up characteristics, emphasize quality and strive for further development. Under the leadship and support of our school, the adult higher education of hnufe is sure to become more prosperous through the constant efforts taken by all the staff members of the adult education of hnufe.
