The Department of Culture and Communication of Henan University of Finance and Economics was founded in Jun.1997, with four specialities, advertising, public administration, office administration, and art.

　 There are 38 faculty and staff members in the department, among whom 13 are professors and associate professors, 14 lecturers and 3 associates. The department has 5 teaching and research sections, advertising section, public administration section, art section, office administration section and college Chinese section. In addition to specialized courses of our department, the professors and teachers here have to teach 9 basic courses and elective courses in our university such as college Chinese, Chinese writing and public relations, and have undertaken thework of teaching foreign students Chinese. The department is also in charge of the provincial self-learning examination of office administration and the training and examination of Henan Secretaryship Certificate.

　 The present enrollment of undergraduate students is over 700.The students themselves have founded 4 associations, Xiongfeng Advertising Club, Future Secretary Society, Wenbo Painting and Calligraphy Association and the Study and Research Association of Deng Xiaoping Theory, and have started a few publications, Lark, Adbusters, etc., all of which provide a place and opportunities for the students to do research work and put what they have learned into practice.

　 The Department of Culture and Communication preserves an active academic atmosphere. In the past years, over 60 books, either on special subjects or of teaching materials, and over 200 academic theses got published. The professors and teachers have undertaken about 40 scientific research projects at both provincial and provincial department levels, among which nearly 30 have respectively obtained prizes.

　 The Department of Culture and Communication boasts a nice environment for teaching, research and study. The teaching apparatuses are advanced. There are two modern laboratories in the department, computer design laboratory and photo laboratory , and a collection of over 23000 books and reference books and over 40 kinds of journals and magazines in the department library. Under the guidance of the spirit of stability, development and progress, we, all the teachers and staff members of this department, are filled with great expectations that the future is hopeful.
