Founded in 1983 under the direct leadership of the college administration, the DMLTTR now has had 5 teaching offices and one institute, namely: the Teaching and Researching Offices of Deng Xiaoping’s Theory, Philosophy, Political Economics, Mao Zedong Thought, Current World’s Politics and Economics, and as well as the university for Deng Xiaoping’s Theory. Of the 33 staff members, there are 28 teachers, 2 administrative workers, and 3 assistants personnel for teaching. The department has 3 professors, 13 associate professors, and 12 lecturers. All the young teachers have completed graduate study, and three have got a Ph.D. degree.

　One teacher is named the Excellent Expert of Henan, and another the Disciplinary Leading Figure of Trans-Centuries. Besides, our teaching staff has won other honors or awards such as a provincial-level Labor Medal and the title of Excellent Teacher of the Young and Middle-Aged.

　The Business Ethics Institute, which was founded in 1998 under the direct leadership of the College Administration, is now integrated into the DMLTTR.
Nowadays, the Business Ethics Institute under the Ethics and Moral Building-up Center of the Chinese People’s University, which is chosen by the Education Ministry as one of its “hundred key research bases”, also works with and under the Business Ethics Institute of our department.

　The DMLTTR has a qualified faculty whose teaching has been acknowledged by all the teachers and students at Henan College of Finance and Economics. Two of our courses, the Political Economics and An Outline of Deng Xiaoping’s Theory, have been assessed provincial excellence. The project for the “Teaching Content and System Reform of Political Economics and Its Practice” has won a national second award for Teaching Accomplishment, the “Three Entry Research Project of Deng Xiaoping’s Theory” has won a provincial first award for Teaching Accomplishment, and the DMLTTR was invited to make a special presentation of the project at the national “Experience Exchange Conference for the Young People in Studying Deng Xiaoping’s Theory”, held in joint hands by the Propaganda Department of the Central Party Committee, the Education Ministry, and the Central Committee of the Chinese Youth League. Nowadays, the DMLTTR is working hard to further enhance the practical effects of the “Two Courses” in education, and trying to find new approaches to deliver the courses under the guidance of the “Three Representative ” ideas.

　Greatly talented and diligent, teachers of our department have accomplished a lot academically. They have organized or participated Over 20 national level and more than 40 provincial level research projects, published a score of books and over 200 theses. Additionally, more than 30 awards have been gained for provincial or ministry Accomplishment of provincial or ministry levels, exercising greater influence on the academic arena in China. In 2003, the department got the permission to enroll graduate students majoring in Ethics. We are working hard in unity for further glories.
